Can I use your art for [insert reason]?

Sure! Of course~ But please note that
    1) Commercial use of my stuff in any way is not allowed
    2) Please don't use anything in the "commissions" folder
    3) Please do not claim anything as your own. Crediting is always appreciated and preferred.

What tools do you use??

Digital-wise Paint Tool SAI and wacom tablet (Intuos pro as of Mar 2014), with Photoshop (CS5) for editing. Traditional I use Marie's watercolors, random brushes I see lying around (really I don't have preferences for these...) and mechanical pencil.

What brush setting for your SAI brush??

What kind of art education did you get/how long have you been drawing/etc?

This is actually the most common question haha. I have been getting art lessons on and off since I was a toddler, but didn't really take any real drawing classes until sophomore year of high school and  stopped after graduating. Currently I am probably not doing art professionally, but having these skills had always been helpful.

Can you give some drawing tips/teach how to draw head/draw clothing/etc?

I have literally just one tip: observe and draw from life/references!

By this, I don't mean to copy another anime drawing, but actually sit down and try to figure out how clothing/hands/etc looks naturally, and then try to recreate it on paper! It really helps to practice this a lot, not only does it make you understand drawing better, but also helps to train your hand muscles and develop manual memory.

Yes, it's SUPER boring! But if I can't understand how something works in real life, there is no way I could draw it and make it look realist, heavily stylized or no. So please do it, there really isn't a shortcut for this!

How long does it take you to finish something?

The most time is spent (on top of the numbers listed below) on brainstorming. A really clear idea will make painting more smooth, while something I don't really have inspiration for will drag the process on longer.

As for the actual process of drawing, for something simple and relatively easy, it’s 2-3 hours (which is slow...). If it's something I struggle with, it’s around 7-10 hours I think! And as for stuff that I actually have to deal with anatomy and/or bg (always difficult..), it’s anywhere from 10-15 hours.

I’m really impatient so nothing really goes past that range. The numbers are rough estimates but it’s always around those ballparks.

Also if you're a commissioner looking at this, sorry I'm really trying and probably repainting something or another please don't kill me.

Can you make a tutorial?

Actually I've already made a few tutorials:
    1
    2
    3
    4

I also recommend following my Tumblr because I upload a metric shit-tonne of process gifs, color palettes, screenshots and WIPs periodically.

Can you make a new tutorial?

As of August 2014, the answer to this question is no. For more information on why, please visit this link.

How often do you draw?

Depending on how busy I get, everyday to once per month. Idk, take breaks yo!

What resources/technique did you use/how did you get where you are now/how did you develop your style?

Hm honestly I think I am kind of under-qualified to answer these type of questions...but I think art classes are essential! Or if you can trust yourself to learn good observation skills, do it at home. But really it was very important for me to understand how to translate observation to drawing, and good art classes teach you exactly that (also techniques and theories).

I don't really know much about technique lol...it's kind of the same with style, I didn't really know what I was doing and was experimenting. I just tried everything I personally find interesting!

But but. Although it's good to experiment, imo it's better to get the basics (anatomy, color theory, etc) down first before going crazy with the styles. Says the person who can't anatomy

Then what influenced your style?

Chinese paintings! Gustav Klimt! European architecture! Bernini! Pixiv! I don't even know, too many influences. Expose yourself to all kinds of art and you'll find inspirations naturally!

Why is everything you upload so small?

To discourage people from editing them intensively ahah;; I had some bad experience with RP groups editing and reusing commissions. Sorry about this! I will try to upload more detail shots on my Tumblr!

and I think that's about it...Please send stuff to my askbox if there's something you'd like to know! Or just leave it here if you feel comfortable asking  <3
